Most Sri Lankan men I know don't think about their health until something goes wrong. We skip checkups. We Google symptoms at 2 AM instead of seeing a doctor. We tell ourselves it's probably nothing.
I started Mens Health because I got tired of how little useful information there was for men like us. Not generic advice from American websites. Not Ayurveda miracle cures. Just straightforward, research-backed explanations about the stuff that actually affects Sri Lankan men, such as prostate trouble, hormone changes, what to eat, and how to stay sharp as you get older.
Every article on this site pulls from published medical research and public health data. You'll see references linked throughout, so you can check the sources yourself. I try to keep the tone closer to a conversation than a textbook, but I won't dumb things down either.
The focus right now is mostly on prostate health and nutrition, because that's where the need is greatest and the information gap is widest. Over time I plan to cover more ground, including testosterone and hormonal health, mental wellbeing, sleep, and exercise that's realistic for a Sri Lankan schedule.
This should go without saying, but I am not a doctor. Nothing on this site is medical advice. If something feels off with your body, go see a real doctor instead of relying on a website, a WhatsApp forward, or your auntie's home remedy. The articles here are meant to help you understand what's going on so you can ask the right questions when you do get to a clinic.
